“My fascination with cattle goes back to when I asked for a calf instead of a puppy.
In exchange for my empty piggy bank, that’s what I got!

Since then, my path has led past a cattle management degree, work experience on an East Texas Ranch, the adventure of a Peace Corps animal production volunteer, management experience on a northern New York dairy farm, project management of a sustainable farming initiative, my current day job as a cattle management consultant and “cow dietitian” and – the formation of the East Adirondack Cattle Company, LLC.

I like to think that my passion, experience and abilities – on whatever scale – can help feed the world.”

“For me, raising beef is a lifestyle with health benefits.  In my twenties, I was diagnosed with high cholesterol.  For a decade or more I sought healthy cholesterol levels through exercise and vegetarianism but success came only with medication.  I now eat a fruit, vegetable, beef and nut based diet.  I have great cholesterol (no medication) and enjoy the best health of my life!

Apart from the ranch, I enjoy working as a speech therapist and competing in distance horse riding competitions.”
